Delay in robbery case

A man will appear in court charged with a robbery that left a woman seriously hurt in her own home.

Marcine Stecki, 21, of no fixed address, is charged with one count of robbery and possessing an offensive weapon after a robbery at a home in Woodside, Leigh, on July 24.

He appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Monday for a plea and case management hearing, but a Polish interpreter was not available.

The case was adjourned until January 13.

Grantham court: Case has to be adjourned for translator

The case against a Lithuanian national had to be adjourned because there was no translator available in court.

Algirdas Gerbenis, of Railway Terrace, Grantham, is accused of drink driving on St Catherine’s Road in the town and failing to stop after an accident on October 10.

The case was adjourned to December 16.

Mr Gerbenis was granted unconditional bail.

Hearing pushed back for interpreter

The trial of a 38-year-old man accused of attacking two people in his own home has been delayed.

Ainars Bukss, of Tower Mews in Walthamstow, is alleged to have assaulted Miss Blizniukeine and Paul Blizniukas on November 7.

He was due to appear at Thames Magistrates on Thursday but an interpreter was not available.

He was bailed until December 19 when he is due back at the same court.
