Drink-drive
defendant walks free after gaffe
An Eastern European man
accused of drink-driving at a north-east harbour walked free from court
yesterday – because police failed to find him an interpreter who spoke his
language.
Edgaras Robeznieks told
officers he had drunk “a couple of beers” before going for a drive through
Peterhead’s Seagate area.
He was arrested after
giving a positive roadside breath test.
